Guatemala confirms two new outbreaks of classical swine fever

According to the OIE, Guatemalan veterinary authorities have confirmed two new outbreaks of classical swine fever.

The outbreaks ara located on a backyard farms without biosecurity measures in Ipala (Chiquimula) and Pastores (Sacatepequez).

There are a total of 35 susceptible animals of wich 12 cases.

The outbreaks were detected by veterinarians from the official Services. The event is limited to these farms. No more cases observed. Epidemiological surveillance is ongoing at a national level.
