Guatemala confirms two new outbreaks of classical swine fever

The affected farms are located in Guatemala and Suchitepequez Departments.

The veterinary authorities have sent a report to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) about two outbreaks of classical swine fever (CSF) in Guatemala.

The affected farms are located in Guatemala (Villa Lobos, Villa Lobos, Villa Nueva) and Suchitepequez Departments and includes a total of 220 susceptible animals of which 33 cases.

The outbreaks were detected by veterinarians from the official services. The event is limited to these farms. No more cases observed. Epidemiological surveillance goes on at national level.
