The aim of the Minister of Agriculture of Low Saxony, Ms Barbara Otte-Kinast, is to strengthen the controls in the abattoirs through video surveillance.
In an interview published in the German magazine Hannoversche Allgemeine, the Minister said that next February 15th, an initiative (that other states such as North Rhine-Westphalia want to join) will be submitted to the Federal Council that will propose the possibility that the official inspectors may have the option to control the cameras in the abattoirs through their cellphones.
