Germany: Slight increase in livestock in November 2014

The stock of pigs rose slightly by roughly 136,600 or 0.5% since May 2014.

According to provisional results of the livestock survey for 3 November 2014, the livestock in Germany rose moderately.

The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that there were roughly 28.2 million pigs in Germany. The stock of pigs rose slightly by roughly 136,600 or 0.5% since May 2014.

For the cattle stock, too, a slight 0.3% increase to roughly 12.7 million animals was observed. The number of sheep was up by 27,700 to roughly 1.6 million since the last survey in November 2013.
