The National Assembly of France has approved an amendment through which the terms related to animal products shall not be used for the commercialisation of food products that contain an important proportion of plant products.

The goal of this modification is to forbid certain commercial practices that are misleading for the consumers, as they associate terms such as ‘milk’, ‘hamburger’ or ‘steak’ to products with a composition that is not exclusively or chiefly based on meat or animal products.
