France maintained a generally stable pork production in 2025, consolidating its position as the third-largest producer in the European Union. According to the latest Eurostat data, the country produced a total of 2.1 million tonnes of pork, a slight 0.35% increase compared to 2024.

With this volume, France accounted for 9.6% of total Community production, remaining well behind Spain and Germany, while maintaining its place among the main European producers.

France's performance contrasts with the strong growth observed in other major European producing countries. While Spain increased its production by 6.4% and Poland by 5%, France showed a much more stable trend, continuing the trend observed in recent years.

The data also show that French production remains below the highest levels recorded in the early 2000s. Despite this, the French pork industry maintains a solid production structure and a significant share of the European market, particularly in certain regions that are highly specialized in livestock farming.

At the European Union level, pork production reached 21.89 million tonnes in 2025, an increase of 3.8% compared to the previous year, confirming a second consecutive year of recovery after the low point recorded in 2023.
