The animals on the pig farm located in the French Pyrénées-Atlantiques department affected by Aujeszky’s disease were slaughtered, and the farm was cleaned and disinfected.

The results of the epidemiologic research carried out have ruled out the spreading of the virus near the affected farm.

All the farms located within a 5-km radius have been submitted to a clinical visit and serological tests, with favourable results. The origin of the contamination probably was the wild fauna.

In this context, last March 28th, the restriction measures imposed were lifted after the detection of the disease last March 16th. The French authorities informed of the closure of the case to the European Commission and the WOAH/OIE.
