As of July 18th, marking with the letter "F" will identify pig carcasses as born, raised, and slaughtered in France. This initiative is part of the SNIV–SNCP syndicate.

Slaughterhouses will be responsible for marking the carcasses. The letter "F" is assigned to farms, not to a particular animal, so that if a farm receives animals that were born or raised elsewhere, they are not eligible to use the mark on any of their pigs.
