The European Union has presented, through France, its candidature for the next WOAH/FAO's Directorate General.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Agriculture strongly endorsed France's candidature, with Catherine Geslain-Lanéelle's leadership.

Catherine Geslain-Lanéelle was invited, on September 25th, at the instance of the Austrian presidency, to address the Ministers of Agriculture of the European Union to describe to them her priorities and plans.

The WOAH/FAO's General Director's term will end in 2019. It is expected that the candidates for this post present their candidature before December 1st.
