This is the first case of African swine fever (ASF) on a pig farm in Taichung, Taiwan. Samples were sent to the National Reference Laboratory for diagnosis on October 21 for increased mortality rates. On October 25, the outbreak was confirmed as ASF and reported to the World Organisation for Animal Health. Control measures have been implemented since October 21.
