Once again, pork stands out as the fastest-growing animal protein in Brazil. This is reflected in the preliminary data from the fourth quarter of 2020, published by IBGE in February, which shows that Brazilian pork production last year was quite significant, with a growth of 7.42% in carcass weight compared to 2019, consolidating the expansion of the product for another consecutive year.

Fresh pork exports grew almost 40% in 2020 over the previous year, breaking a new record and surpassing 900,000 tonnes.
