According to the latest data released by Denmark Department of Statistics, the total census on 1st October stood at 12.8 million head, which represents an increase of 4% over the same period last year.

This increase is due to an increment in the census of weaned pigs weighing less than 50 kg (5.721 million, + 7%) and finishing pigs (3.232 million, + 4%), while the number of dams has remained stable (1.028 million sows).

Exports of piglets remain high. 7.3 million piglets have been exported during the first 8 months of this year.
