Effective today, pork and beef products from eligible establishments in Canada that are processed on or after November 5, 2019 may be exported to China.

China is a key trading partner for Canada and our Canadian meat products had made significant gains in China over recent years. China was the second-largest market for Canadian pork and the fifth largest for beef.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) will begin issuing export certificates for compliant pork and beef products to China from all eligible establishments.
