Chileans are the ones who consume more processed meats in Latin America

The consumption of beef per capita in Chile in 2012 was 22.4 kilos, whilst 37 kilos of fowl meat and 27 kg of pork are also consumed.

In the last five years, the consumption of processed meats among Chileans has grown by 10.4%, reaching a total market of up to 143,000 tonnes in 2013, according to Euromonitor International.

With these figures, Chileans are the ones who consume more processed meats (packaged and/or frozen) in Latin America, with a total of 8.1 kg per capita.

On the other hand, statistics from ODEPA (Agricultural Studies and Policies Office) show that the consumption of beef per capita in 2012 was 22.4 kg, whilst 37 kg of fowl meat and 27 kg of pork are also consumed.
