This memorandum, signed during the Ministerial Meeting on Agriculture of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) on June 17, will enable both countries to collaborate in developing public policies focused on strengthening rural and indigenous family farming and promoting the inclusion of rural women and youth.

The areas of cooperation agreed between the two countries include promoting sustainable agricultural production, strengthening rural information systems, promoting agroecology, science, technology, and innovation, and the development of policies that promote the industrialization of agricultural production as a way of adding value to the work of producers. Cooperation will also focus on improving certification and sanitary control systems, facilitating the exchange of quality agricultural products between both markets.

This memorandum marks an important step in the bilateral relationship between Chile and Colombia, aiming to strengthen their collaboration on key issues for agricultural development and trade, benefiting rural sectors and promoting sustainability in the region.
