Grain production for the 2025/26 marketing year could reach 356.3 million tons. The data comes from the 7th Grain Report for the current marketing year, published on April 14 by the National Supply Company (Conab). The estimated volume represents an increase of 4.1 million tons compared to the 2024/25 crop year and a rise of 2.9 million tons compared to the 6th report published last month. If confirmed, this result would set a new record for the volume harvested by Brazilian producers. The area planted in the current season is expected to grow by 2%, reaching 83.3 million hectares, while yield is expected to drop from 4,310 kilograms per hectare in the previous season to 4,276 kilograms per hectare in the 2025/26 season. Despite the projected 0.8% decline, this would be the second-highest national average yield recorded in the company’s historical data series.

Conab forecasts a new record soybean crop, estimated at 179.2 million tons. Reduced rainfall in March created better field conditions for harvesting progress, which has already reached 85.7% of the total area. Although some key soybean-producing states have seen lower average yields than the previous season, the national average yield for the oilseed crop is expected to be the highest ever recorded, estimated at 3,696 kilograms per hectare this season.

As for corn, the country’s second-most widely grown crop, Conab forecasts total production to be 139.6 million tons, representing a 1.1% decline from the previous season. While the first crop season saw an increase in planted area—estimated at 4.1 million hectares—which would result in higher production of up to 28 million tons, the second crop season is projected to yield 109.1 million tons, 3.6% less than in the 2024/25 season. Planting for the second corn season is in its final phase, and the crops are currently between germination and flowering.
