Brazilian pork exports (considering all products, including fresh and processed) reached 108,800 tons in June, reports the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA). This is 13.2% higher than the same period in 2020, when 96,100 tons were exported. With the second best monthly performance in the sector's history (surpassed only by March of this year, when 109,200 tons were shipped), pork exports in June generated revenues of US$ 270.2 million, a historical monthly record for the sector. This figure surpasses the sales balance of June 2020, by 36.5% which was US$ 198 million.

In the first six months of 2021, 562,700 tons were shipped, a volume 17.39% higher than that registered in the same period last year, when 479,400 tons were exported. The revenue from exports between January and June reached US$ 1.349 billion, 25.4% higher than in the same period of 2020, with US$ 1.076 billion recorded. China is still the main destination for exports. In June, it imported 58,800 tons, which was 29.2% higher than June of 2020. Other highlights for the month were Chile, with 5,300 tons (+45.4%), Vietnam, with 3,700 tons (+38.3%), the Philippines, with 2,800 tons (+371.2%), and Argentina, with 2,200 tons (+326.6%).

Among the exporting states, Santa Catarina remains in the lead, with 55,500 tons exported in June (+22.04%), followed by Rio Grande do Sul, with 30,300 tons (+19.89%) and Paraná, with 13,300 tons (-11.29%).
