According to data from the first livestock production statistics, published by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), Brazil's swine slaughter grew by 7.6% in the third quarter of 2021 compared to the same period of 2020. Compared to the second quarter of this year, there was a 5.1% increase in slaughter.
Pork production grew compared to the same quarter of the previous year (+8.5%) and compared to the immediately preceding quarter (+4.5%), totaling 1.27 million tons.
