With the aim of increasing the Brazilian pig meat exports to Argentina, the Brazilian Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, Mr Antonio Andrade, met with the Argentinian Minister, Mr Norberto Yauhar.

In 2012, an agreement between both countries established that the Argentinian importation quota would be 3 tonnes per month. Nevertheless, according to Mr Antonio Andrade, currently, this amount is approximately a thousand tonnes per month. According to the Brazilian Minister, the Argentinian Minister was very receptive and said that he would personally take responsibility for this matter with the aim of increasing the exports from Brazil.

Although Argentina has increased its home production of this product, it has a great pig meat demand, and it needs to complement the supply with imports, and this, according to the Argentinian Minister, eases an agreement between both countries.
