The Ministry of Agriculture has submitted to a public enquiry during a 30 day period the Normative Instruction project that approves the technical Regulation relative to the protection of animals before and during their slaughtering.
The project was published in the Official Gazette (DOU) last Thursday March 21st.
In accordance with the director of the Animal Derived Products Inspection Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Judi Nobrega, the main goal of the ordinance is to update the Normative Instruction No. 3/2000, relative to the protection of the animals during their slaughtering, with the aim of increasing the level of protection of the animals.
