Brazil: Russia leads the pig meat exports

From January to May Russia imported 61,527 tonnes of Brazilian pig meat, and this means an increase by 9.29% in terms of volume.

During last May, Russia entailed 37.71% of the Brazilian pig meat exports, reaching the first place in the ranking of importers, with 51.85% of the income, followed by Hong Kong, with 21.73%, and Angola, with 10,42%.

From January to May 2014, Russia imported 61,527 tonnes of Brazilian pig meat amounting $224.02 million, and this entails an increase by 9.29% in terms of volume and by 33.58% in terms of income, in comparison with the same period in 2013.

The total exports of Brazilian pig meat (fresh and processed) in May reached 38,441 tonnes and an income of $121,62 million, which means a decrease by 12.34% in terms of volume with respect to the same month in 2013, and a rise by 6.63% in terms of income.

So far this year, Brazil has exported 191,898 tonnes, with an income of $531.62 million: a decrease by 4% in terms of volume and by 0.03% in terms of value with respect to the same period in 2013.
