Brazil: Resumption of the pig sector activity after the drivers' strike

The sector expects the activity to reassume its normal levels in 60 days.

The Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA) has reported that 163 cold stores in Brazil reassumed last Friday their activities after the stopping of the slaughterings and the butchering as a direct consequence of the drivers' strike.

It is expected that during this week, all the fowl and swine producing and processing agro-industries reassume their activities.

The resumption will be carried out gradually. The sector expects that the production reassumes its normal levels in 60 days in order to guarantee the preservation the quality of the products that reach the consumers.
