The sustainable pig production with low carbon emissions to the atmosphere will be one of the priorities for the Ministry of Agriculture of Brazil in 2015 within the ABC (Low Carbon Emission Agriculture) Plan developed by the Department of Agriculture and Cooperative Development (COSUDE).

This year, the Ministry has signed a cooperation agreement with the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) to hire consultants that will implement the project for the production of pigs with low carbon emissions. One of the goals of the Plan is the processing of animal waste.

The ABC Plan's goal is to reduce the emission of greenhouse effect gases (GEG) in agriculture. Only in the 2014/2015 season credits have been given for a amount of 2,500 million reales.
