Brazil: launching of the National Agriculture and Livestock Defense Plan

The Minister of Agriculture of Brazil, Ms. Katia Abreu, announced by the end of April the launching of the National Agriculture Defense Plan, that take place yestoday, May 6th, during a ceremony with the president Ms. Dilma Rousseff.

The plan's goal is to modernise the health and phytosanitary area regulatory framework and to restructure the laboratories for the testing for diseases and plagues.

It is also espected that today, May 6th, the president, Ms. Dilma Rousseff presents part of the Animal Products Industrial and Health Inspection Regulation (RIISPOA) and the regulation bill that establishes the use of generic veterinary drugs.
