“Brazilian Pork: flavour of Brazil in your life” is the motto used by the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA), together with the Brazilian Exports and Investments Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil), for the worldwide launching of the Brazilian Pork sectorial project. The presentation took place at the Embassy of Brazil in Mexico, where leaders, importers, journalists and other representatives of the government and of the Mexican society participated.

During the meeting, a video in Spanish was projected that shows the quality of the pork produced in Brazil, the health status of Brazil, the number of workers in this sector, and the sustainable profiles of the Brazilian pig production. This materials are also available in English and Mandarin in order to attend the most important markets that consume Brazilian pork. In the video there is an evaluation of the animal welfare, the respect for health and the environmental management, and the main idea that “when a person in any part of the world eats Brazilian pork is tasting the quality of Brazil”.

During the event, the president of the ABPA, Mr. Francisco Turra, presented the quantitative and the qualitative differences that make Brazil the first exporter of animal protein in the world. The executive director of the ABPA also highlighted the features that allow Brazil to be a solid partner, regarding health, for the Mexican population.

This launching takes place after the police operation against the commercialisation of fraudulent meat in Brazil, and it is part of a series of efforts of the association, with the support of the Brazilian government, with the aim of restoring the credibility and the image of the national product at an international level.
