Pork and chicken production is expected to reach a record high this year, according to the historical data series from the National Supply Company (Conab), with combined output exceeding 22 million tons. Including beef, the estimated total production volume for the three proteins reaches 33.38 million tons, a figure close to that projected for 2025, when Brazil set a historic record. This trend is accompanied by an increase in domestic availability of poultry and pork, according to the Supply Table published by Conab on Friday, April 10.
In percentage terms, pork production is projected to see the largest increase compared to 2025, approaching 4%. With the hog herd reaching its highest level on record—44.8 million head—total pork production is estimated to reach 5.88 million tons, surpassing previous records. “The outlook points to an increase in demand and exports, driven by the opening of new markets,” says Gabriel Rabello, manager of Fibers and Basic Foods at Conab.

The country is expected to export approximately 1.58 million tons, representing a 6.1% increase compared to 2025 and confirming the market’s steady growth, particularly since 2020, when Brazilian pork exports exceeded one million tons for the first time. Despite the increase in international sales, a 3.4% growth in product availability in the domestic market is also expected, reaching approximately 4.33 million tons.
