Last Thursday, August 29th, the technical cooperation memorandum in the field of animal welfare between the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture and the Health and Consumer's Protection Directorate General of the European Commission (DG-Sanco) was presented.
The memorandum proposes an understanding of the ethical principles and technical aspects related to animal welfare, respecting the cultural peculiarities of each country. The goal of the agreement is to improve the husbandry systems and to increase the level of protection of the animals intended for the production of food.
