In Beijing, Brazil's Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, André de Paula, and the Brazilian delegation participated in a bilateral meeting with the Minister of the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC), Sun Meijun, and her team. The meeting, held on Tuesday the 19th, continued the agenda of the Brazilian mission to China and focused on strengthening bilateral agricultural trade, sanitary cooperation, and expanding exchange between the two countries.
At the meeting, the two ministries made progress on technical agreements regarding the sanitary and quarantine requirements for the export of pork and pork byproducts from Brazil to China. Minister André de Paula and Minister Sun Meijun confirmed the technical terms of the revised protocol, which will be formalized in due course.

Following the formalization of the protocol, the Ministry of Agriculture (MAPA) will be able to guide Brazilian companies in the necessary technical preparations, while the GACC will continue with internal procedures to facilitate trade.
Progress in the pork protocol negotiations strengthens technical and sanitary cooperation between MAPA and the GACC, consolidating China as a key partner for Brazilian agribusiness.
