The Ministry of Agriculture of Brazil has signed an agreement with the agricultural defense state services amounting R$45 million. This initiative's goal is to support the restructuring and implementation of the Unified Alert System for the Agricultural and Livestock Health (Suasa) and the strengthening of the actions for the defense of the agriculture in 2016.

The agreement, signed by the Minister, Ms. Katia Abreu, has a special credit line amounting R$600.000 allocated to the animal products Brazilian Inspection System (SISBI-POA).

The Suasa's goal is to expand, at a national level, the inspection of animal and plant products. The agriculture and livestock defense system includes activities related to animal and plant health, inspection, supervision, health education, and the surveillance of the animals, plants, supplies, and animal and plant products and byproducts.
