Senasa statistics - which include the six months of the mandatory quarantine due to the COVID-19 health emergency - show that in the first 9 months of this year, shipments of Argentinean pork products and pig by-products (meat, offal, casings, cold cuts, etc.) to countries in 4 continents, totaled 32,276 tonnes (compared to 19,797 tonnes in the same period in 2019). The main destinations were: China (16,551 t); Hong Kong (4,617 t), Russia (3,512 t), Chile (1,966 t) and the Ivory Coast (1,112 t).

Other destinations were: Angola (787 t); Paraguay (702 t); Peru (694 t); Colombia (662 t) and the Democratic Republic of Congo (661 t).

Although pressure from importers regarding safety and hygiene standards, protocols, and controls have increased since the COVID-19 pandemic, Argentina maintains 39 open markets for its pork products.
