The National Health and Food and Agriculture Quality Service and the Interamerican Agricultural Cooperation Institute (IACI) resolved to use joint technical cooperation work strategies.

The framework agreement establishes the necessary grounds for the improvement and expansion of the institutional and human capacity that promotes, formulates and implements the national policies in terms of food and livestock health and food harmlessness. It will also provide the technical-scientific exchange that allows the increase in the capacity of the health service and the cooperation in the development of joint projects.

The cooperation will be carried out in the areas of agriculture and livestock health, food harmlessness, sanitary and phytosanitary measures, institutional modernization, and emerging issues and emergencies related to the subject, while bearing in mind that the implementation categories for its execution are the training by means of courses, seminars, training while working and visits for the carrying out of studies, direct assessments by means of technical missions or individual experts, and technical cooperation in the drafting of programmes or projects.

The SENASA will have the responsibility of defining the priorities of the actions and of providing, through specific agreements, technical and financial support; and the IACI will back the activities and will promote the coordination with other institutions when necessary.
