Argentina – Pork product imports

Throughout 2009 a total of 35.856 tons of pork products were imported, a value of 78 million dollars. The importation of fresh meats represented 75% of total products imported and equals 10% of national production (27.800 tons).

Throughout 2009 a total of 35.856 tons of pork products were imported, a value of 78 million dollars. The importation of fresh meats represented 75% of total products imported and equals 10% of national production (27.800 tons).

The bulk of the fresh meat imported (87%) came from Brazil, followed by Chile and Denmark.

During the last few years importations have been increasing. In 2010 this increase was significant: in comparison with the period of January-October 2009, the total imports in 2010 were 36% more in volume.
