George Nicolaou new director for TOPIGS Hellas

TOPIGS is pleased to announce the appointment of George Nicolaou as Director of TOPIGS Hellas effective from 15 November 2010. He will be responsible for the business development of TOPIGS activities in Greece, Bulgaria and Macedonia.

TOPIGS is pleased to announce the appointment of George Nicolaou as Director of TOPIGS Hellas effective from 15 November 2010. He will be responsible for the business development of TOPIGS activities in Greece, Bulgaria and Macedonia.

George Nicolaou (43) has broad experience in pig genetics and A.I. Before joining TOPIGS, Mr Nicolaou worked for 18 years in the pig industry as farm manager and breeding manager. He was also active as sales manager of breeding stock. George said: “TOPIGS is far out the strongest genetic supplier in Greece. I am excited to get this opportunity to use my experience for the further development of TOPIGS.’’

“We are very happy to get George in our team because of his wide experience in the pig business. This experience will help TOPIGS to further develop the strong position in Greece and the rest of the South-East European market." said Arno van de Laar, Regional director of TOPIGS International.

TOPIGS Hellas is market leader in Greece with a market share of about 45%.

With a production of 1,100,000 crossbred gilts and over 6 million doses of semen per year, Dutch based TOPIGS is one of the biggest genetics suppliers in the world. In several countries, TOPIGS is either the market leader or one of the major suppliers.
