Effect of fermentable and inert fibre in weaning piglets

Predicting the functional effect of fibre ingredients when fed to early weaning piglets is advisable in order to control the gut health.

Francesc Molist is a veterinarian and swine nutritionist Head of the Swine Research Group at Schothorst Feed Research (the Netherlands).
Francesc obtained his Masters and PhD in Animal Science from the Veterinary Faculty of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in Spain. He has collaborated with some of the main research groups in pig nutrition in the world including University of Helsinki, University of Manitoba (Canada), Kyoto Prefectural University (Japan), Riddett Institute - Massey University (New Zealand).
After working in the feed additives industry for several years Francesc in 2011 joined Schothorst Feed Research as swine researcher and consultant and he became the Head of the Swine Research Group in 2013.
Nowadays Francesc is involved in conducting research and providing independent consultancy for the pig feed industry. He is author of several scientific publications as well as articles in general public magazines and conferences.
