Russia: temporary restrictions on the supply of certain types of meat products from the EU

Deputy Head of Rosselkhoznadzor Eugene Nepoklonov notified the Director of the Directorate for Veterinary and International Affairs Directorate General of the European Commission's Health and Consumer Protection, Bernard van Gotham that due to multiple detection during monitoring of banned and harmful substances in products, coming from the European Union to Russia from 21 October 2014 introduced temporary restrictions on imports to Russia from the European Union a number of products to be used for food purposes, namely, by-products of cattle and pigs, meals of meat or meat offal, cattle fat, pork fat (including lard) and poultry fat.
