At meeting with acting Chief Veterinary Officer of Poland Krzysztof Jażdżewski, Chief Veterinary Officer of Switzerland, Hans Wysf, denied imposing any import restrictions on Polish pigmeat which would transgress Commission Implementing Decision 2014/178.

Polish pigmeat is approved for trade in the EU market. Therefore, the veterinary authority of the Swiss Confederation treats it identically as the EU Member States.

Currently, Switzerland does not maintain veterinary checks at the border with the EU, and, pursuant to agreements with the EU, respects all regulations adopted by the European Commission, transposing them into the national legal system.
