How many subtypes of the PCV2 virus have been determined to date?
PCV2 can be divided into 4 main subtypes: PCV2a, PCV2b, PCV2c and PCV2d. In addition, 6 intermediate clades are described between these subtypes. PCV2 evolves much faster and is very diverse compared to other DNA viruses.
