The Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) has met directly with large livestock enterprises to direct production, promote recuperation of pig herds, and stabilization of pork prices.

Many large livestock enterprises (such as Vietnam Joint Stock Company, Dabaco, Mavin, Masan, andGreenFeed) have cooperated with the government and have now lowered the price of live pigs to 73,000 - 76,000 VND / kg.

To reduce the pressure of pork prices on the CPI, all 15 enterprises that were present at the March 30 meeting pledged to lower the price of live hogs to 70,000 VND / kg by April 1.

The government has also allowed increased pork imports. As of March 27, the volume of imported pork reached more than 39,191 tons, an increase of 312% compared to the same period in 2019.
