Despite the best efforts of the BPEX board last week, Cranswick has decided to withdraw from reporting price data into the DAPP after all.

Producers are angry that Cranswick has stopped price reporting. Its action is damaging to the industry because it might cause Tulip to withdraw its support also.

If Cranswick's action does start a domino effect, NPA will press BPEX to quickly introduce an alternative average pig price which will be as robust and reliable as the DAPP.

BPEX is required by government to collect and report weekly price information for the European Commission.
