According to Administrative Order No. 12 of 2025 issued by the Philippine Department of Agriculture, temporary restrictions on the importation of pigs, pig products, and pig by-products originating in Russia into the Philippines have been lifted.

The Philippine side conducted a comprehensive assessment of the documentation and control measures implemented by the Russian veterinary service. Based on the results of the inspection, the Philippine Bureau of Animal Industry recognized the adequacy of veterinary supervision in Russia and the effectiveness of measures taken to mitigate the risks of African swine fever (ASF) spread.

The lifting of the ban opens up significant prospects for Russian pork producers, given the high capacity of the Philippine market and the growing demand for high-quality meat products.

The parties agreed on the terms of supply for these products.

In the first stage, seven Russian companies were granted the right to export pig products to the Philippines.
