In relation to the detection of PRRS virus in sows, in late November, more than 9,500 pigs on about 100 farms were tested in response to the disease event.

On 11 January 2013, the last results from the second serological testing round on all farms were negative.

Therefore, the event is closed, all restrictions are lifted and Switzerland is free from PRRS.
