In 2019, Spanish agri-food and fisheries exports to the Philippines reached a record 321.68 million euros, making this country the 11th largest destination for Spanish exports to third countries, and resulting in a positive trade balance of almost 200 million euros.

As a whole, these exports are characterized by strong product concentration, since the tariff categories that group beverages and alcohol, and meat and offal, concentrate the bulk of the total value of agrifood and fishery exports to the Philippines, which in 2019 accounted for 83.78% of the exports. In this regard, exports of meat and offal, reached a record 86,592 tons, worth 97 million euros, all of this being of pig origin since pork is the only type of meat currently authorized for export to the Philippines from Spain, although MAPA is actively negotiating with the Philippine Department of Agriculture so that authorization can soon be extended to beef- meat and offal.
