The four Protected Designations of Origin (In Spanish, Denominaciones de Origen Protegidas) Dehesa de Extremadura, Guijuelo, Jabugo, and Los Pedroches have reached an alliance to take actions against improper uses affecting the names protected by the four Designations of Origin that occur in the market.

These actions are initiated in defense, in the first place, of consumers who may be confused by the use of names that are linked to the product protected by these figures of Differentiated Quality and that enjoy an unquestionable prestige in the market, in addition to the need to protect the operators registered in these Regulatory Councils.

The protection of the names of these Protected Designations of Origin used in the labeling and/or promotion of hams and shoulders protected by these Protected Designations of Origin covers the entire territory of the European Union and other third countries that participate in the CMO agreements, including the electronic market, guaranteeing the veracity of all the terms used in the labeling of the protected products, their traceability and the qualities established in their corresponding specifications.
