Spain: meat products exports grow over 60% since 2009

The value of manufacturers' sales of meat products abroad exceeded €850 M in 2014, 10% more than in 2013 and 63% more than in 2009, representing 10% more than the previous year and 63% more than in 2009.

According to DBK, a subsidiary of Informa D&B (CESCE Group), meat products exports continued to show great dynamism with an increase of 9.6% in 2014, reaching €857 M, and representing 12% of the value of domestic production. In 2009, meat products overseas sales totalled €526 M, being the total increase since then a 63%.

Among the major foreign markets, the most important increases in exports were to France (+11.7%), Portugal (+16.8%) and the UK (+13.2%); these countries, together with Germany, concentrated a share of 60% of the total exports.

By the close of 2015, in a context of improved performance of domestic consumption and price recovery, a growth of the Spanish market value of around 2% is expected.
