An outbreak of African swine fever (ASF) was confirmed on a pig farm in Dangjin-si, South Chungcheong Province, on November 25. Emergency quarantine measures are being implemented, and 1,423 pigs at the farm were culled. This is the sixth confirmed case in pigs this year and the first in South Chungcheong Province, the country's largest pig farming area.
Inspections are being conducted on 30 farms within a 10-km quarantine zone around the outbreak farm and 106 pig farms with epidemiological links to the outbreak farm. In addition, clinical tests are being conducted on 611 farms that visited the same slaughterhouse with epidemiological links.

The ASF crisis alert level was raised to “serious” for all regions nationwide.
The spread of ASF in wild boar has decreased significantly in the country. As of the end of October 2025, the number of cases detected in wild boars was 55, compared to 719 cases last year. ASF has not been detected in wild boars in the Chungcheongnam-do region so far.
