Russian pork exports surge, driven by growth in China, Belarus, and Vietnam

Russia exported 137.8K t of pork, up 60% YoY, with sharp rises in shipments to China, Belarus, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, and Georgia.

The volume of meat and meat product exports reached 440.4 thousand tonnes. Compared to the same period in 2024, this figure increased 1.3 times, up from 351.5 thousand tonnes.

Russian pork exports reached 137.8 thousand tonnes, 1.6 times more than in the same period last year, when 87.4 thousand tonnes were shipped. Exports to Belarus amounted to 56.4 thousand tonnes, 1.5 times more than the same period last year, while shipments to Vietnam increased 1.9 times to 35.2 thousand tonnes. In addition, Kazakhstan and Georgia also increased their imports of this type of meat. Exports of pork products to China totaled 35.4 thousand tonnes, which is 2.9 times higher than the same period last year, when 12.3 thousand tonnes were shipped. Specifically, China increased its purchases of pork meat 2.2 times to 19.3 thousand tonnes and its imports of pork by-products 4.4 times to 16 thousand tonnes.

In particular, exports of poultry meat and edible by-products grew 1.1 times, from 168.5 thousand tonnes to 187.6 thousand tonnes. The main importer was China, which received over 70.5 thousand tonnes. Exports of this type of product increased 1.4 times to Saudi Arabia (41.4 thousand tonnes), 1.1 times to Kazakhstan (18.8 thousand tonnes), 3.1 times to Uzbekistan (10.6 thousand tonnes), and 1.2 times to Kyrgyzstan (7.1 thousand tonnes).

Exports of edible by-products from cattle, sheep, and pigs amounted to 43.7 thousand tonnes, 1.5 times higher than last year's figure of 29 thousand tonnes.
