By mid-May, Russia increased its meat product exports by 36% compared to the same period last year, reaching 345,000 tons, according to Vitaly Nagalin, Deputy Head of the Federal Agroexport Center.
China remains the main buyer of Russian products, accounting for nearly a third of the revenue from Russian meat exports. However, the export markets are fairly diversified. Russia ships products to 91 countries. Other key export markets include CIS countries, Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, Serbia, and Iran.

The main export volumes of meat products are effectively split between neighboring countries and Southeast Asia: by the end of 2024, a total of 720,000 tons of meat products were shipped in both directions, compared to 590,000 tons in 2023.
“In the neighboring countries, the export structure is quite diverse — there is high demand for both poultry and pork, as well as for ready-to-eat meat products. The key tasks in the foreseeable future will be to develop poultry exports and increase market share in these regions,” said Vitaly Nagalin.
