Russia - New African Swine Fever outbreak in Krasnodar Krai

The specialists of Kropotkinskaya regional veterinary laboratory detected genetic material of ASF virus in the samples of pathological material collected from dead and emergency slaughtered swine kept in a pig farm rented by a private person in the territory of agricultural and animal breeding complex "Kedr" located 2.5 km from village of Krasnoye, Voznesenskoye settlement, Labinsky Rayon, Krasnodar Krai.

The specialists of Kropotkinskaya regional veterinary laboratory detected genetic material of ASF virus in the samples of pathological material collected from dead and emergency slaughtered swine kept in a pig farm rented by a private person in the territory of agricultural and animal breeding complex "Kedr" located 2.5 km from village of Krasnoye, Voznesenskoye settlement, Labinsky Rayon, Krasnodar Krai.

The outbreak is located 25 km from Novoalexeyevskaya village, Kurganinsky Rayon where ASF outbreak was reported in February 2011.

The swine population in the outbreak is 83 animals among them 4 swine were sick, 1 animal died and 1 animal was emergency slaughtered. The swine population in the backyards of Krasnoye village is 275 animals, in the public sector of Labinsky Rayon is 19 thousand animals, in the private sector is 6 thousand animals. The closest pig producing farm OOO "Rodina" in the Voznesenskoye settlement, Labinsky Rayon is located 18 km from the outbreak. The swine population of this farm is 2 thousand animals.
