Russia doubled its pork exports in value terms in January–March 2025, reaching USD 180 million, and increased them by 72% in volume terms (to 76 thousand tons) compared to the same period in 2024, according to analysts from Agroexport.
As in 2024, the top three buyers of Russian pork were Vietnam, Belarus, and China. In the first quarter, Vietnam increased its imports of Russian pork in value terms by 2.1 times compared to the same period last year. Exports to Belarus rose by 53%. Exports to mainland China (excluding Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan), which began in March 2024, totaled USD 32 million in the first three months of this year—more than 130 times the figure for the first quarter of 2024.

"The export growth is due to the expansion of supply geography," said Ilya Ilyushin, head of the Federal Agroexport Center. "While shipments were made to 32 countries in the first quarter of 2024, that number rose to 43 in January–March 2025."
Positive export dynamics were observed in nearly all directions last year, and this trend continued in the first quarter of 2025, added Yuri Kovalev, CEO of the National Union of Pig Breeders.
