In a historic year for Chile's foreign trade, pork ranked as the country's fifth-most exported food product in 2025, underscoring the importance of the meat sector to national exports. Asia remained the main destination for pork.
According to figures from the Undersecretariat for International Economic Relations (SUBREI), Chile's total exports grew by 7.9% in 2025 compared to 2024, reaching an all-time high. In this context, the food sector totaled US$23.083 billion, with a 2% year-on-year increase, consolidating its position as the second most profitable sector for the country, after mining.

In 2025, Chilean pork exports reached US$652 million, ranking among the top food products exported. Asian markets led demand: South Korea, China, and Japan accounted for 69% of the export value and 64% of the total volume.
This performance reaffirms the international competitiveness of Chilean pork, backed by high sanitary standards, quality, and consistent supply capacity.
The results confirm the meat sector's contribution to productive diversification, job creation, and Chile's positioning as a reliable food supplier. In particular, pork has established itself as a pillar of food exports, with projections indicating that it will continue to expand its presence in strategic markets.
